i have been going to wppi each year for seven years now and began entering their 16x20 print competition about five years ago. this year i was stunned and amazed to win not only the first place in the wedding photojounalism category but the grand award for the entire photojournalism division. i just wanted to share this image with you and thank jenny and andrew for the honor of attending their wedding and being able to make this image for them.

this past week was nothing short of absolutely amazing. i was honored to be a part of the wedding and portrait photographers international convention. saturday and sunday i helped judge the yearly 16x20 print competition which was utterly amazing .... at over 2400 entries it was an enormous undertaking for all of the judges, print chairs, and handlers! monday, tuesday and wednesday i spoke in the booth for the tremendous troy and rebecca widner of pickpic which was a great honor. wednesday morning i was pleased and humbled by the classroom of people that drug themselves out of bed at 8am to attend my first-ever wppi master class. THANK YOU to everyone who showed up!
wednesday night was the awards ceremony for the print and album competition and it was a great night! so many of my wonderful friends were awarded accolades for their amazing imagery and i was beyond shocked to hear my name called as the third place award winner in the "bride and groom together" category!

i would be utterly remiss if i didn't thank the superb printing skills of jonathan penney who took my worked files and made some beautiful inkjet prints for me!
every image i entered received a merit, meaning that it scored over an 80. the images entered in competition are below:
